Harrison Ford Reveals Why He Returned for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. In a recent interview with Variety, Harrison Ford went into some details on why he wanted to return to the Indiana Jones Character. He also gave a brief answer to the burning question “Will this be the end of Dr. Jones?”
“It’s the last time for me.” Harrison Ford said of returning, continuing to say “I always wanted to do it,” Ford shared with Variety about what drew him to the sequel. “I wanted to do the rest of the story to see the end of his career.” when discussing why he returned for Dial of Destiny.
One thing that assuredly won’t be happening is seeing a new actor take over for Harrison Ford as the archaeologist, as confirmed by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

After years of anticipation, Lucasfilm is bringing another Indiana Jones adventure to the big screen. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will arrive in theaters on June 30, 2023, with Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role as our favorite onscreen archaeologist.
Ford is joined by a rich cast, including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Oliver Richters, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is directed by James Mangold, with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel producing. Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serve as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, is once again composing the score.
