Harrison Ford Pays Respects to On Screen Father and “Dear Friend” Sean Connery. On October 31, 2020 award winning actor Sean Connery passed away in his sleep at his home in the Bahamas after being”unwell for quite some time”. Connery’s on screen son from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Harrison Ford has shared tribute to the late and great actor in a statement released to Variety.
Ford shared his condolences in a statement, sharing, “”He was my father…not in life…but in Indy 3. You don’t know pleasure until someone pays you to take Sean Connery for a ride in the sidecar of a Russian motorcycle bouncing along a bumpy, twisty mountain trail and getting to watch him squirm. God, we had fun — if he’s in heaven, I hope they have golf courses. Rest in peace, dear friend.”
Sir Thomas Sean Connery is best known for originating the role of British secret agent James Bond from 1962 to 1971 and then reprised the role unofficially in 1983. According to Disney Wiki, he played Michael MacBride in the 1959 Disney film, Darby O’Gill and the Little People. He also played Dr. Robert Campbell in Medicine Man, Captain John Patrick Mason in the 1996 Hollywood Pictures film, The Rock, and Dr. Henry Jones, Sr. in the third Indiana Jones film, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Connery’s acting career spanned decades and his many awards including an Oscar, two Bafta awards, and three Golden Globes.
