Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando Unveils $40 Million Room Renovation
The beat goes on at Universal Orlando’s Hard Rock Hotel, where newly renovated guest rooms and suites are taking center stage after a multi-year, nearly $40 million transformation. The refresh extends far beyond the rooms, touching the hotel’s signature restaurant The Kitchen, the sleek Velvet Bar, and even the building façade — all part of an encore performance designed to elevate the guest experience while keeping the hotel’s legendary rock-and-roll energy alive.

Sunset-Inspired Design
The revamped rooms take their cue from the warm glow of a California sunset, blending bold oranges, cool blues, and rich ambers. Driftwood accents and handcrafted macrame fixtures transport guests to a laid-back coastal vibe, while design firm KTGY ensured the interior harmonizes with the hotel’s California mission-style exterior.
“We’re thrilled for our guests to experience a new look and feel when they check in next,” says John Power, managing director of Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando. “Think of a place where you would hang out and listen to your favorite band lay down a new track in the studio. That is the vibe the designers created in our new rooms.”
Returning fans will still find some greatest hits on display, including record-inspired artwork and the iconic full-length mirrors marked with celebrity heights — perfect for measuring up to rock royalty.

The Full Hard Rock Experience
Of course, staying here means more than a stylish room. Guests are surrounded by priceless music memorabilia, poolside DJs, and can enjoy events like the weekly Acoustic Brunch at The Kitchen and the popular Velvet Sessions and Velvet Unplugged concert series.
As one of Universal Orlando’s Signature Collection hotels, Hard Rock guests get an all-access pass to perks, including complimentary Universal Express Unlimited ride access (theme park admission required) and Early Park Admission to select attractions. With Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and the soon-to-open Epic Universe just a stroll or water taxi away, guests practically have rollercoasters in their backyard.

Rockin’ Extras
Music remains the heart of every Hard Rock stay. Through the Sound of Your Stay® program, guests can jam out with curated playlists, request a record player for vinyl vibes, or even have a premium Fender guitar delivered right to their room. And with the hotel now part of Unity by Hard Rock, guests can earn and redeem loyalty rewards across participating Hard Rock properties worldwide.
