The Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom Closing for Refurbishment in January 2025

The Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom will temporarily close for refurbishment starting January 20, 2025, according to the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar. While Disney has yet to announce a specific reopening date, this closure aligns with the attraction’s tradition of updating its lineup following the inauguration of a new U.S. president.

The Liberty Square attraction is renowned for its lifelike animatronics of all U.S. presidents. Each figure is introduced with painstaking detail, and updates to the attraction have been a consistent part of Disney’s commitment to keeping the experience current. The most recent refurbishment occurred in 2021, when President Joe Biden was added, closing the Hall on January 20 and reopening on August 3 of that year. Similarly, during Donald Trump’s first term, the Hall closed on January 17, 2017, and reopened on December 18, 2017, with his animatronic debut.

This refurbishment poses a unique scenario, as Donald Trump is the first former president to return to office, raising questions about how Disney will approach his animatronic figure.
