Guests stuck on Disney's Skyliner due to accident at loading station

Update 10/06/19

A statement was issued from Disney concerning the incident on the Disney Skyliner:

We have a team diligently looking into the cause of the malfunction on the Epcot line of the Disney Skyliner.  We have been in contact with the guests, many of whom were on the Skyliner for more than three hours until we were able to restart the system. We express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and continue to work with each guest individually.


 

Update 10/06/19

All guests were evacuated last night before midnight and Disney’s Skyliner will remain closed till further notice while the issue is investigated.

Luckily there were no injuries reported due to the crash at the Riveria Resort Skyliner station.

 

News that broke last night around 9pm on October 5th

It is being reported online that guests are stuck on Disney’s Skyliner Transportation system due to an accident at Disney’s Riveria Resort Skyliner station.

Guests who are stuck in the air on the Skyliner are complaining about being up in the air for over 3 hours and being hot, irritated and having to use the bathroom.

No word if anyone was in the Gondolas that got into the accident at the station.

Disney broadcasted that there is an emergency kit under the seats with water for guests who are stuck and waiting for evacuation.

Reedy Creek and Orange County Fire Department are on the scene evacuating guests.

  1. Ohhhhhhh! There’s “emergency kits” in each gondola, is there?

    Yeah, sure! THAT makes it all worth it…to be stuck suspended over WDW…in the Florida heat and maybe in ONE OF THE ENDLESS LIGHTENING EVENTS BUT SURE…THERE’S AN “EMERGENCY KIT” IN EACH GONDOLA!

    FRICKIN DISNEY AND ANYONE WHO RIDES ONE OF THESE IS OUT OF THEIR COLLECTIVE MINDS!

    I’d rather take mt chances on a ride in a grounded 737 MAX!
