Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Nova Corps ship is taking shape. Imagineer Zach Riddley gave a huge update on the installation of the Nova Corps Starblaster ship that is going to tower over the entrance to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot, which opens this summer.

A new year brings continued progress at EPCOT. Today I’m excited to share our team has started the installation of the Cosmic Rewind Nova Corps ship that will mark the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind entrance at EPCOT. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be assembling the 51-foot-tall ship, adding finishing details, and tying in the landing pad area that surrounds the ship. Swipe for a teaser photo and concept art of the cockpit that’ll be going in soon!

Once complete, this ship will be the signature icon of the Wonders of Xandar pavilion and immediately establish the Xandarian storyline guests will discover inside this new attraction. Plus, the bold blue and gold colors will make this a stunning new addition to World Discovery. We can’t wait to share more details as we bring the first-ever, full-size Cosmic Rewind Nova Corps to life here at EPCOT (and you can join along and watch from the monorail too!).

Cosmic Rewind Nova Corps

This morning at Destination D23, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro revealed Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open in summer 2022 at EPCOT as part of the Walt Disney World Resort 50th Anniversary celebration. This thrilling new family-friendly coaster matches the “grandiosity” and fun of the blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” films in what will be one of the longest fully enclosed coasters in the world.

Josh made this exciting announcement with a little help from a friend … check out the video below to hear from Academy Award nominee Glenn Close, who for our attraction will reprise her role from “Guardians of the Galaxy” as Nova Prime, the leader of Xandar and commander of the Nova Corps.

You’ll see Nova Prime in the new Wonders of Xandar “other-world” pavilion at EPCOT, which the Xandarians are currently constructing in the park’s newly renamed World Discovery neighborhood. It’s here you’ll learn more about Xandarians and their advanced technologies, which they’re bringing to us here on Earth – or Terra, as they call our planet. Cosmic Rewind Nova Corps.
