A boy who spent nearly a week in an underground bunker after being kidnapped from a school bus is going to get a very special birthday gift…a week at Walt Disney World. Police rescued Ethan just days before he turned 6 years old. Now an idea on Facebook has hundreds of people raising money.
Owen and Carrie Kreps started a Facebook fundraising page to send Ethan to Disney and within 24 hours they had met their goal of $7,000 and more than 700 likes on Facebook. Owen is happy to report that Ethan’s family has accepted the offer to go on the dream vacation.
“I have a kindergarten boy as well. We’re five miles down the road from the scene. Just any mother can relate to what that mother had been going through. We wanted to do something fun for all of them to look forward to,” said Owen.
Jeremy Lee with Wiregrass Travel is helping to plan the trip. He can’t think of a better gift for the boy. “Disney does everything bigger and better. From the fireworks, to light shows, to the rides and characters,” said Lee.
Now all focus is on sending Ethan to Disney as a VIP. Left over money will go into a trust fund for him.
