Greg Grunberg returns for Star Wars: Episode IX! And it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise given the relationship between Grunberg and director J.J. Abrams.
When Grunberg appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens it wasn’t a huge shock, again given the relationship between actor and director. In that movie he made his appearance as an X-Wing pilot that was a part of Poe Dameron’s Black Squadron. While missing in Star Wars: The Last Jedi we are excited to see what the Black Squadron have been up to in this third, and final, installment.
We can confirm via his representatives that Greg Grunberg will be reprising his role as Snap Wexley in ‘STAR WARS EPISODE IX’. (EXCLUSIVE) pic.twitter.com/WLE5IdgfDn

This casting news comes on the heels of other news about the Star Wars: Episode IX cast. It was announced a few days ago that Matt Smith will be joining the cast of the film. While his role has not be specified yet, it is considered a “key role” and not just a cameo.
We also recently announced that the film is still in the process of casting. Looking for 27 and 35 year old female to play a role with the codename “Karina” who is described as a “younger Charlize Theron with street smarts” and ” a good sense of humor.”
We are soaking up all of the casting news coming out of the Star Wars: Episode IX plot since, as with the other films, the plot has remained tightly under wraps.
Star Wars: Episode IX will hit theaters on December 20, 2019. That gives us plenty of time to speculate about characters and plot points!
