Jeff Andre, a Federal postal inspector, was at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on October 20 when he happened to spot NYC fugitive Quashon Burton. Burton fled his home in Brooklyn last November after he was accused of fraudulently obtaining coronavirus relief aid.
According to the federal complaint, Burton was accused of stealing the identities of at least four people in order to fraudulently take out government PPP loans. In total, he is accused of stealing about $150,000 in forgivable federal loans.

Andre spotted Burton around 3 pm and police from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office confronted him about an hour later as he waited at a bus stop with two family members. Burton refused to provide ID and continued to deny that he was Quashon Burton even after fingerprints proved his identity. He also resisted arrest.
A New York judge recently ruled that Burton should be held without bail before his trial.
