Could the next Olympics take place in Florida?
The global pandemic has forced the world to adapt and change. Likewise, the original plans for many scheduled events are changing in response to health and safety concerns. Sporting events and professional sports went into hiatus, but Disney helped the NBA finish their season in a special “NBA bubble.” Now it looks as if Disney may have inspired a new proposal to host the Olympics in Florida.
Florida’s Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis sent a letter to the Olympic Committee asking for the state to be considered if Japan decides to not host the Summer games. The letter mentions the success of Disney’s NBA bubble that was created due to the pandemic. It claims that Disney’s operations have proven that Florida can handle a large amount of tourists daily.
The Florida CFO also states:
The State of Florida has successfully allowed sports to take place during the pandemic. When most states shut down sporting events.
What do you think of the possibility of seeing the Olympics in Florida? The Florida CFO makes a claim that Disney serves as an incredible model for how to run a complex organization in the midst of today’s environment. It’ll certainly be interesting to see what happens next!
