According to an Orange County arrest affidavit, a 29-year-old man from Daytona Beach was caught at the Transportation and Ticket Center in Walt Disney World with a gun and 2 magazines in his backpack.

The Florida man was charged with carrying a concealed firearm according to Click Orlando.

Terry Bruce attempted to bring his 9mm gun with him to the parks instead of leaving the gun in his car where he usually kept it according to the court document. He states he forgot it was in his bag…

“When we found the weapon, we engaged law enforcement. The arrest is a law enforcement matter,” a Disney spokesperson said.

Disney World Park Rules outline prohibited items including firearms and weapons of any kind.

  1. How embarrassing for him but honestly thats purely dumb he thought he’d get past security. Who forgets a weapon. Thank You Disney Security for really checking stuff out

  2. Great job, security! Keep the guests safe – is so important! This is why we keep coming back with our children and grandchildren! Thank you!

  3. I love the Security at Disney. I’ve never met one who didn’t smile or roll their eyes went I show them my little Minnie cell case (the only thing I carry in the parks). When they did the random “go through the metal detector” searches my friends and I would wave at each other and say “farewell my friends, I go on to a better place.” The security got a kick out of it! #DisneyVacayGiveaway

  4. This is exactly why I don’t mind Disney’s security measures at all. It keeps us all safe. #DisneyVacayGiveaway

  5. One of the biggest reasons why I love visiting Disney parks amongst other amusement parks is that I feel safe there. Security is top-notch & they go above & beyond to keep us all safe. I don’t believe for one second that the guy ‘forgot it was in his bag.’ Come on!!!! I’m glad he was caught! #DisneyVacayGiveaway
