First Look at Jurassic World and SpongeBob Rides Coming to Universal Kids Resort
Universal just dropped a brand new concept video for its upcoming kid focused theme park, and let’s just say… it is dino-sized and pineapple-flavored. The second episode of the Universal Kids Resort mini series gives us our first real look at attractions coming to Jurassic World Adventure Camp and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom at the new park in Texas.

Inside Jurassic World Adventure Camp, little explorers will be able to spin, soar, and search for dinos of their own. Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin will be a Flying Wheels attraction inspired by the animated DNA strand from the original Jurassic Park film, with gondolas twisting around a central tower. Pteranodrop will feature two smaller drop towers perfect for younger thrill seekers, set against the iconic Jurassic World archway with a towering T. rex looming in the background.

The concept video also showed Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster in action for the first time. On this family coaster, guests will help search for Bumpy, the lovable Ankylosaurus from the animated series. There will also be Paddock Play, where kids can meet and interact with baby Velociraptors, including the adorable puppet that has appeared in other Universal parks.

Over in Bikini Bottom, things get delightfully nautical. Jellyfish Fields Jamboree will be an aerial carousel style ride where guests board Jelly Anglers and go jelly fishing alongside SpongeBob. Barnacle Bus will bring a Rockin Tug style experience, with an orange Bikini Bottom bus sliding and spinning across a half pipe style track.

Bobbing Barrels will add splashy fun with spinning vehicles and water cannons featuring Patrick, while Pineapple Paradise will serve as a water play area centered around SpongeBob’s famous pineapple house. Not shown yet are Mrs. Puff’s Boating School and Mussel Beach, which are still under wraps for now.
The new park, officially called Universal Kids Resort, is set to open this year in Frisco, Texas and will be Universal’s first theme park designed specifically for younger guests. Future mini series episodes will preview lands themed to Shrek, Puss in Boots, Minions, and Trolls.
