Giant Otter Makes Splash at Disney Lakeshore Lodget
Two larger-than-life otters have officially arrived at Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, and they are already giving us another look at just how playful this new Walt Disney World resort is shaping up to be.

The giant otter figures are part of Otter Springs, a children’s water play area located within The Wetlands recreation area at the upcoming resort. Walt Disney Imagineering recently showed off the installation in a new episode of “Pardon Our Pixie Dust,” including a closer look at one of the massive figures being put into place.
The two otters are named Addy and Bonnie, with Addy shown lying on her back and holding a giant scallop while a blue slide runs along the figure. Even though the sculptures are designed to look like carved wood, they are actually made from fiberglass-reinforced plastic panels. The pair will serve as part of the themed water play experience, with slides incorporated directly into the oversized otters.
Otter Springs will be just one piece of The Wetlands, which is set to include pools, a lazy river, and other themed recreation areas. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is currently scheduled to open in summer 2027 along Bay Lake near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Magic Kingdom. The nature-inspired resort is expected to feature 967 accommodations, including studios, suites, and one- and two-bedroom waterfront Lake Houses.
