First look at the all-new MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World

Now we wanted to give you a look inside the box of the new MagicBand+ and a few details:

Immerse yourself in Disney stories using the exciting new features of MagicBand+, including:

• Customizable color-changing lights
• Haptic vibrations let you feel the magic with light vibrations that bring experiences to life
• Gesture recognition—your movement enables magical surprises!

Plus, all types of MagicBand or card will allow you to:

• Enter theme and water parks (with valid admission).
• Check-in at Lightning Lane and virtual queue entrances.
• Connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account.
• Unlock the door of your Disney Resort hotel room.
• Charge food and merchandise purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room (only available during your hotel stay).

Ok, enough of the details, let’s crack this device open:

The box includes a charger and cable and unlike previous MagicBands, you will need to charge these like you would an Apple watch.

Here is what the charger looks like. Nothing too fancy, it snaps in securely for charging. I wish it plugged into the MagicBand like you would a cell phone. However, It does come fully charged when you purchase the device, so that is nice!

Here is a look at the underside of the device. Like previous MagicBands a strap can be removed to make it for smaller wrists.

A green light pulsed while it was charging, and here is a look at the device when you turn it on.

This is what it looks like with it on. Don’t you just love it? So far we have only spotted the new Magicband+ at World of Disney and they sold out almost immediately.

Recently Disney World 50th Anniversary Statues added lighting and speakers for the new MagicBand+. We are unsure when these new features will go live.
