The story follows Elphaba, who is now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West and living in exile. While she continues to fight for the freedom of Oz’s silenced Animals, Glinda has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness, living a life of fame and popularity at the palace. Haunted by her separation from Elphaba, Glinda attempts to broker a reconciliation, but those efforts fail, driving the two friends even further apart. A girl from Kansas then crashes into their lives, setting in motion a series of events that will transform them all.

The film’s cast also includes Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero. They are joined by Ethan Slater as Boq and Marissa Bode as Nessarose. The creative team includes returning producer Marc Platt and legendary composer Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music and lyrics for the original stage play.
The first film, “Wicked,” released in November 2024, was a global cultural sensation that earned 10 Academy Award nominations and grossed $750 million worldwide. “Wicked: For Good” is based on the musical stage play with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman, from the bestselling novel by Gregory Maguire. The new film is set to conclude the story when it releases in theaters.
