The Final Farwell: Disney Cruise Line

The Final Farwell: Disney Cruise Line

While you may have seen “the kiss goodnight” at the Disney parks, or you’re among those who slowly wander down Main street toward the exit gates at a snail’s pace, trying to get every minute worth of magic you possibly can…how do you make those last sweet moments last when you’re on a cruise?
There is no such thing as late checkout on cruises. Your breakfast time is scheduled and your luggage is taken the night before to expedite your debarkation. There is no leisurely stroll anywhere on the ship on the last day. There is a hustle and bustle that starts while you’re sleeping and continues until you are off the ship and the next guests are boarding.

Many cruisers make a terrible mistake on the last day of their cruise; they spend the day in mourning that they have to go home in the morning and then call it an early night to pack and prepare for the morning rush.

While it’s true your vacation is ending, it’s not over until the mouse kicks you out. The last night of a cruise is sometimes the most magical but many people miss it while holed up in their stateroom trying to pack all those souvenirs into their suitcases. If you’re on of these folks who calls it an early night on that last day here’s what you’re missing:

  • The Pub Skit: For the adults, “pub-night” is the best night in the adult district. This hilarious pub skit just gets better and better and you won’t want to miss the hilarious costumes and comedy of your cruise staff. This night always packs people in so arrive early if you want to find a seat and don’t forget your camera!
  • Till We Meet Again Dinner: Don’t skip dinner on your last night, this is a great time to say goodbye to your table mates (make sure you exchange information if you haven’t already) and to your servers. The servers also put on a little parade and it’s your chance to cheer them on and thank them for the great service.
  • The Kiss Goodnight/Till We Meet Again Show: At around 10pm gather in the lobby for the Till We Meet Again show, this is a time when all the characters gather to say a final goodbye. This is also your chance to get photos with the main stage performers (in their costumes) who’ve been entertaining you all week long with the Broadway style shows. Bring your camera and grab photos of the characters as they line up along the staircase and make their way around the crowd. This is a great way to end your vacation, it gives you a reminder of all the great things that have happened during your cruise and gives you a chance for those last minute photos and a chance to say thank you to all the cast members who’ve made your cruise so magical.

Don’t miss out on these great activities on the last night of your cruise. Take a little time in the afternoon to pack your luggage and prepare to spend your last night out and about on the boat; you won’t regret it!
