The fifth Indiana Jones movie will begin filming next year in the UK according to director Steven Spielberg.
Spielberg made the announcement during his speech at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards. “It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here,” he said as he received a Legend of Our Lifetime award.
In 2016 it was announced that the fifth film was coming with Harrison Ford returning as the title character and Spielberg at the helm. David Koepp, who wrote “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” was hired to pen the script. At this point no other casting announcements have been made. The film is still untitled at this time.
The first four installments of the Indiana Jones franchise have grossed close to $2 billion in worldwide box office. The fifth movie is slated to hit theaters on July 10, 2020.
