Fans Petition Disney to Bring a Memorial for Richard Gerth to Disney’s Grand Floridian

A petition has been created by fans to bring a memorial for Richard Gerth to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

For nearly 30 years, Richard Gerth was a cast member at Walt Disney World Resort. He was often seen greeting guests at the entrance to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. He was also known to escort many brides from the hotel to their waiting transportation on their wedding days.

Mr. Gerth had a friendly face and a warm demeanor that many grew to know and love. When he passed away last year, at the age of 92, the whole Disney community was saddened.

Now, a petition has been created, asking Disney to build a statue of Mr. Gerth. The statue would honor him, and be there greet guests who knew and loved him. At the time of writing, there were over 800 signatures on the petition, found here. The current goal is 1,000 signatures.
