Evil Stepsisters Movie in Development for Disney by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo. Acting and production duo Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo have been tapped by Disney to create a movie based on Cinderella’s stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella. The movie will reportedly take place from the sisters perspective beginning in their childhood and into the rule of Cinderella as a Princess.

The synopsis shared by Deadline reads, “The film is a fairy tale musical comedy that re-imagines the Cinderella classic from the point of view of her infamous evil stepsisters. Spanning their early childhood through the marriage of their universally beloved stepsister and beyond, we follow Anastasia and Drizella Tremaine as they struggle to uphold their family’s legacy.“

It is currently unknown if either Wiig or Mumolo will star in the film, but it seems the pair will act in production roles exclusively for this project. Disney has yet to share if the film will be a Disney+ Original Film or will receive a theatrical release.
