At Comic-Con this year, I got a chance to not talk to the creative minds involved in ‘Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’, which was an absolute blast. I learned so much of what was to come, and they really got me excited for the game. One of the most intriguing things of the game, of course, is the characters. What’s more interesting than getting to play as Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit? One of the coolest things about ‘Epic Mickey 2’, for me, is that for the first time ever, Oswald is going to have a voice. That’s right, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who has never spoken a line of dialog, will finally have a voice. This is definitely a huge thing, and I for one couldn’t be happier about it. But he and Mickey aren’t the only two characters in the game, and Disney interactive has unveiled an excellent new behind the scenes feature of the game that will let you get to know the characters.
Pretty neat, huh? I’m definitely very excited for this game, and I love that they’re really starting to delve deeper into this characters of Walt Disney Animation’s past that, sadly, we’ve really never gotten to know. I think that’s part of the thing that makes these ‘Epic Mickey’ games so fun and unique. It’s also a chance to introduce these characters to a younger audience that may not already know them. I’m really glad to see such a huge resurgence lately of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit within the Disney family, and I for one hope that he, and his new voice, get a chance to shine in new animated shorts when all is said and done, because this is as perfect time as any to really jump into bringing him back for the masses in a big way, outside of video games.
I really can’t wait for ‘Epic Mickey 2’, and I’m sure many of you out there can’t as well. Are you looking forward to ‘Epic Mickey 2’? Let me know in the comments below, only here at Chip and Company!

Mine as well! I’m so excited to get to play the full game now. The small part I played at Comic-Con was absolutely wonderful. A huge improvement over the first. 😀
