We’ve seen many great Disney quarantine videos since March of this year. The global pandemic forced Disney Park fans to resort to alternative forms of entertainment to help spread goodwill. However, the most ambitious Disney quarantine video is coming out next week! Former Disney World Cast Members are working together to create a quarantine edition of Epcot’s Tapestry of Nations! It’s taken them over three months to complete because of the complex nature of this project.
Epcot’s Tapestry of Nations
Talk about a blast from the past! The Tapestry of Nations is an Epcot parade that ran around World Showcase Lagoon between 1999 to 2001. The theme of the parade focuses on the concepts of unity and world peace. Making a quarantine edition of this classic Epcot parade is a great way to inspire hope and positivity.
“We have always been a family that has maintained strong ties over the years,” one alumni said. “For many of us, Tapestry happened at the start of our adult lives. We came of age, found our voices and established ourselves as independent young adults.” Despite the distance, these former parade workers stay connected to each other due to their strong friendships.
Spanning four continents and nine countries, Alumni from across the globe coordinated their efforts to restage one of Disney’s most cherished parades. Over the course of three months, more than 150 Tapestry Alumni have created handmade costumes, props and puppets, recording performances which has been dubbed “The Great Alumni Walk.” It’ll be great to see this quarantine video since so many former members of the Epcot parade collaborated on making this happen.
The Tapestry of Nations: Quarantine Edition will premiere live on YouTube. It premieres on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 8:00 PM EST. The date coincides with the 21st anniversary of the first Tapestry of Nations.
