The Bell Tower in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion Is Undergoing Refurbishment
A familiar sight in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion is temporarily hidden behind scaffolding as the bell tower undergoes some routine maintenance. Right now, scrims cover the structure almost entirely, leaving just a small section of the rooftop peeking out. This striking tower is a re-creation of St. Mark’s Campanile, the iconic bell tower of Venice, Italy, and stands as a centerpiece of the pavilion’s stunning architecture.

Though the tower may be temporarily obscured, the work being done is all part of regular upkeep to ensure it remains in top condition. Through the scrims, scaffolding is visible, showing multiple levels where crews are hard at work making sure every detail is properly maintained. While there’s no official timeline on how long the maintenance will take, these types of refurbishments are a common sight at EPCOT as Disney works to preserve the authenticity and beauty of its World Showcase landmarks.
Guests visiting the Italy Pavilion don’t need to worry about shopping interruptions, as both Il Bel Cristallo and La Gemma Elegante, the charming stores located near the bell tower, remain open for business.
