Frozen Ever After Audio-Animatronics Figures Set for Major Refresh
The Audio-Animatronics figures within EPCOT‘s Frozen Ever After attraction are scheduled to receive new updates, following ten years of continuous operation. The ride, located in the Norway pavilion, has been a favorite for guests since its debut in 2016 and is full of advanced figures representing Sven, Kristoff, Olaf, Marshmellow, Snowgies, Anna, and Elsa.

The original attraction was groundbreaking when it opened. It was the first Frozen-themed ride and marked the first time Disney utilized all-electric motors combined with 3D printing for every Audio-Animatronics figure. This technological base has since been applied to subsequent figures across the globe, from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the figures in Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen.
Innovation Comes Full Circle
Walt Disney Imagineering is now applying lessons learned from these later attractions to refresh the original figures. The Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff Audio-Animatronics figures will receive new updates inspired by the advanced technology seen in the figures at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland.
These updates, scheduled for early next year, are an investment intended to bring a more true-to-film look to the beloved characters. The original figures’ design was notably scaled around a complex electrical system needed to power Elsa’s fluid, ice-forming hand gestures. This new refresh will build upon that technological legacy to elevate the guest experience for years to come.
