Epcot International Festival of the Holidays Is Here

It’s no secret that Disney parks go all out for the holidays and Epcot is no exception to that rule! Beginning November 18th, and running through December 30th, the park will host its 2018 edition of the International Festival of the Holidays. With it comes lots of jovial excitement, appetizing treats, and splendid celebration. The park, including it’s 11 World Showcase nations, will host guests to culturally accurate holiday traditions while providing plenty of familiar sights and sounds of the holiday season. With several different packages and events available, this is one festival you don’t want to miss.

Epcot is always all about the food. The holiday season doesn’t fall short in that category either. Special recipes directly associated with their World Showcase counterpart will be available for those daring palates. Several kiosks representing holiday favorites from around the globe will offer the foodie in you a chance to gorge on holiday snacks.


Candlelight Processional and Dining Package

Epcot International Festival of the Holidays Is Here

Just next to food, Epcot is also known for their live music. This Christmas, Epcot will host their annual Candlelight Processional. If you’re unfamiliar, be sure to stop in and experience the telling of the story of Christmas accompanied by a mass choir, 50 piece orchestra, and of course celebrity narrators. Each evening, a special narrator will tell the familiar story of Christ born in Bethlehem. It’s a beautiful experience and offers the chance to see some of your favorite famous folks live.

In addition to checking out the show, guests have the option of purchasing a Candlelight Dinner Package. Participating restaurants at Epcot will host guests to fabulous dining of a holiday feast and ensure that you get the best seat in the house for the Christmas Processional.

Chip and Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree

The holidays aren’t all seriousness, who doesn’t like to have a little Christmas fun? Join Chip and Dale on a scavenger hunt around the World Showcase. What are you looking for? Christmas ornaments of course! Complete with a map and stickers for marking spots after you’ve located your ornaments, this pint-sized adventure offers fun for the whole family. Once completed, head over to Disney Travelers or World Traveler and exchange that map for a special holiday surprise.

JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season

Of course, the holidays are celebrated quite differently among cultures and nations. Celebrate that diversity with “JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season.” Check out the “Joyful! vocal ensemble” as they perform songs representative of both Christmas and Kwanzaa. Their daily performances are a smooth combination of gospel and R&B! Find them at the Future World Fountain Stage.

Cap off the night with a spectacular fireworks show! IllumiNation’s music, lights, and lasers will appeal to all of your senses, and if you weren’t in the holiday spirit yet, it’s festive grand-finale will surely do the trick.

There are plenty of things to experience this holiday season in all four parks at Walt Disney World Resort. However, no other park offers the chance to experience the diverse celebration of the holiday as experienced around the world. Epcot’s World Showcase is in the holiday spirit and they are ready to make you merry. So, what are you waiting for?
