Gingerbread Spaceship Earth Lights Up for 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays

EPCOT has unveiled a spectacular new addition to its holiday festivities: a towering gingerbread replica of Spaceship Earth. Located in CommuniCore Hall, this edible masterpiece is a highlight of the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

Standing at an impressive eight feet tall, the gingerbread Spaceship Earth is a testament to the artistry and dedication of the EPCOT pastry team, who spent over 160 hours crafting this intricate creation. The edible structure is composed of:

• 240 pounds of honey dough
• 100 eggs
• 100 ounces of lebkuchen spice
• 55 pounds of dark chocolate
• 100 pounds of royal icing

The gingerbread sphere is made up of nearly 1,000 individual gingerbread triangles, reminiscent of the geodesic sphere’s iconic design. Guests can even purchase a Spaceship Earth tile gingerbread triangle at the nearby Experimental Prototype Cookies of Tomorrow holiday kitchen.

Adding a touch of Disney magic, the gingerbread Spaceship Earth features 11 hidden Mickeys, each representing one of the World Showcase pavilions.

Every 10 minutes, following a Celebration Countdown presented by CITIZEN, the gingerbread Spaceship Earth illuminates with a captivating light show synchronized to music, mirroring the real Spaceship Earth’s nighttime spectacle.

The 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs from November 29th through December 30th, offering guests a chance to experience this impressive gingerbread creation and other festive delights from around the world.
