Concrete Walls and Steel Beams Mark Major Progress on Encanto Ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Construction crews are wasting no time transforming DinoLand U.S.A. into the upcoming Tropical Americas area at Walt Disney World, and the latest aerial photos show just how quickly the first-ever Encanto attraction is taking shape at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Thanks to photos by @bioreconstruct on X, we have a birds-eye view of new concrete walls, rising steel beams, and freshly poured foundations that are clearly visible as the massive show building begins to emerge behind the former carnival footprint.

From above, you can see the last traces of DinoLand U.S.A. fading into the background as the Encanto ride building rises in what was once backstage space near Chester and Hester’s Dino Rama. Roughly one-third of the steel structure is already in place, with more beams staged nearby, and concrete forms outlining the eventual walls of the attraction. The old Dinosaur Treasures building remains intact and is expected to be reused as part of the new land, while a deep rectangular concrete structure near the front of the site hints at additional show or ride elements still to come.

The Encanto attraction will feature Casita as its main facade, anchoring the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza. Guests will enter the magical house on the day Antonio receives his gift, riding through rooms brought to life by enchanted furniture before heading into Antonio’s jungle filled with animals and familiar characters. Disney has already confirmed that the original voice cast from Encanto is returning to record new dialogue created specifically for the attraction, meaning this experience will expand the story beyond the film.

A detailed model of Pueblo Esperanza, including Casita and the show building topped with faux hills, is currently on display at Walt Disney Presents inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, giving guests a sneak peek at how the finished land will blend into the park’s landscape. With concrete pouring, steel framing, and materials staged across the site, this project is clearly moving full steam ahead, and Animal Kingdom’s future is starting to look very colorful indeed.
