Emily Blunt Reportedly “In Talks” With Marvel Studios. According to Murphy’s Multiverse, Mary Poppins Returns and The Jungle Cruise actress, Emily Blunt, met with Marvel representatives during the filming of The Jungle Cruise. Supposedly, Blunt was either offered a role upfront OR was asked if she would be interested in working on a future Marvel project.
Murphy’s Multiverse did go on to say there is no confirmation if Emily accepted, just considering, or outright denied an offer, and we will have to wait to see if The Quiet Place actress will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Emily Blunt has a wonderful working relationship with Disney, having expressed interest in a sequel to Mary Poppins Returns as well as continuing to work for the studio in the soon to release The Jungle Cruise alongside fellow Disney Alum, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Moana, The Game Plan).
It comes as no surprise that Marvel would be interested in working with Emily Blunt. She is the prime age for characters such as Sue Storm (Fantastic 4), Medusa (Inhumans), and Clea (Doctor Strange). Not to mention, she is a powerhouse on screen and has proven to be an extremely versatile and talented actress. Another contributing and lesser known factor, was how closely her husband John Krasinski came to being cast as Steve Rogers/Captain America. It is highly possible that Marvel could be seeking both Emily and John for roles within the MCU. My vote is a proper Fantastic 4 remake with John cast as Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic and Emily as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. (*cough, cough* Marvel Studios, I’m looking at you!)
