The documentary, which premiered at the festival, offers an intimate look into John’s life and career, spanning five decades. As the final credits rolled, the audience was treated to an unexpected treat: John took to the stage to perform his iconic song, “Tiny Dancer.” The surprise performance sent the crowd into a frenzy, with many fans capturing the moment on their phones.

Elton John: Never Too Late is directed by R.J. Cutler and David Furnish, John’s husband. The film features never-before-seen footage, including handwritten diaries, audio tapes, and a look into John’s early years. As he prepares for his final North American concert, Elton takes viewers on a journey through the highs and lows of his career, including his struggles with addiction and abuse.
Before its official release on Disney+ on December 13th, Elton John: Never Too Late will have a limited theatrical run in the U.S. and U.K. starting on November 15th.
