Ariel Beauty Collection

This summer Disney in collaboration with E.L.F. cosmetics, Soho, and Ardell released an Ariel and Snow White beauty collection. The collection featured E.L.F. makeup, Soho makeup bags, and Ardell lashes.

These 2 princess collections really were beautiful. The Ariel collection featured warm tropical colors with a sizzling summer vibe, and the Snow White collection featured strong base tones with a sultry European vacation feel. The Ariel collection had quite a bit to offer, Nail Polishes, a nail art kit, hair accessories, lashes, bags, a bronzer, lip set, eye set, and of course the Beauty Book. The Snow White collection had a lot of the same offerings, except there was a beauty powder instead of bronzer, and no nail polishes or art kits. All of this and more is available exclusively at Walgreen’s for $4.99- $7.99 while supplies last. (See below for pictures of all the sets.)  I really wanted to get every single item in the collection, but I had to think better of it and get the makeup colors that would be best suited for me. Afters ome I decided to go with the Ariel Eye Collection, and the Snow White Beauty Book. As much as I loved the Ariel Beauty Book, it wasn’t made for my porcelain skin tones, however Snow White was perfect, go fig right?

The pigments of these eye shadows are absolutely incredible. The price point for the makeup sets start at $4.99 and max out at $9.99 for the multi product beauty book. These shadows had richer pigmentation and better staying power than many high end designer makeup brands I’ve tried. All of the shadows in both collections are a glitter shadow.

The “Under the Sea Eyes” from Ariel contained 2 duo shadows, and a felt tipped black eye liner. The teal on the “High Tide” duo was so intense it took a few applications of makeup remover to come clean. These shadows had richer pigmentation and better staying power than many high end designer makeup brands I’ve tried. The colors go on easily, and you can build them up as much as you like. The eye pencil was pretty flawless at making a perfect winged tip. You do have to shake the eye liner a bit to get the color flowing sometimes though.

As  you can see from the swatches they are a high glitter shadow with very vibrant colors. I was very impressed with the teal and deep purple colors. I wore these for a day at the beach and still had SEAsational eyes when I returned home. Very little smudging or fall out occurred.

The Snow White Beauty Book, titled “The Fairest of Them All” was a complete set of makeup essentials. The book contains a mirror stylized after the Evil Queen’s mirror mirror, and when flipped open has a handy tutorial for a perfectly once upon a time look. The makeup inside features 7 glitter shadows, 1 eye primer, a black eye pencil, a shadow brush, a blush, blush brush, and lip gloss.

The shadows were just as impressive as the Ariel Eye set, with some bolder additions. The white “I’m Wishing” makes for a great replacement to Urban Decay’s “Polyester Bride” if needed as well. Only one shadow didn’t wow me, and it was the ‘Diamond Mine”, while it is a nice shadow the gold just didn’t stand up to the beauty of the gold from the “High Tide” Ariel duo. The eye pencil and shadow brush seemed a bit like a toss in and wasn’t anything jaw dropping. I was a bit disappointed considering the Ariel Beauty Book came with a gorgeous high quality shadow brush. The blush has a wonderful translucent shimmer to give you a Snow White rosy glow, with out coming off to pink.

My favorite part of this book was the lip gloss. The gloss was a stunning sheer red, that had a touch of shimmer but still gave a sophisticated look. There’s a bit of a pinkish hue to it that keeps things playful and youthful, but it is great for any age. It had a nice amount of staying power, and I only needed to reapply after eating. I wish this one was sold separately because I would love to stock up on it.

I felt that not only was everything in this collection extraordinary, but an amazing value with nothing topping more than $9.99. If you love makeup and cosmetics and haven’t checked these products out, I really suggest you do! These Beauty collections really pulled out all the stops, and I’m hoping for another Villains collection this fall, like they did last year. If you are curious about the rest of the collection, there’s photos below of many of them. (Not pictures are the Makeup bags, Ariel Bronzer, Snow White Beauty Powder, and Ariel Brushes.)
