After nearly two years of construction, the much-anticipated Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is just days away from its grand debut on December 17. During our latest visit, we saw the tower nearly ready to welcome guests. While construction vehicles remain on-site for final touches, the exterior is fully complete, showcasing stunning design details that seamlessly blend Polynesian-inspired storytelling with modern luxury. From the room balconies to the breathtaking murals flanking both sides of the tower, the Island Tower is a masterpiece in immersive resort design.

A Full Range of Accommodations with Polynesian Flair
Island Tower offers a variety of accommodations designed to suit every travel party, from cozy Duo Studios to lavish 2-Bedroom Penthouse Villas. Each space features the natural elements of earth, water, and sky, paying tribute to Polynesian culture with vibrant artwork and thematic details. Highlights include:
- Duo Studios: Ideal for two guests, these Moana-inspired rooms feature a kitchenette, patio, and artwork celebrating the sky.
- Deluxe Studios: These earth-themed spaces for up to four guests showcase island flora and fauna, offering a patio and kitchenette with a dishwasher.
- 1-Bedroom Villas: Perfect for five guests, these water-inspired rooms include a full kitchen, two bathrooms, and a washer and dryer.
- 2-Bedroom Villas: Designed for up to nine guests, these luxurious spaces add a third bathroom and combine water and earth themes.
- 2-Bedroom Penthouse Villas: These exclusive accommodations sleep eight and offer extraordinary views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom, along with deluxe amenities.

Immersive Island-Inspired Retreat
From the moment you arrive, the Island Tower immerses you in the spirit of Polynesia. The exterior patterns, inspired by traditional Polynesian tattoos, celebrate island storytelling, while the magnificent lobby showcases the art of wayfinding with a 3-story mural featuring sea and sky elements (and some familiar Moana characters). Guests can also explore four tropical garden terraces—each themed to a different island—that offer stunning views of Magic Kingdom fireworks and Disney’s golf courses.
New Dining and Recreation Offerings
Island Tower introduces the Wailulu Bar & Grill, a culinary delight that combines Polynesian-inspired dishes with classic favorites. Guests can enjoy an on-the-go breakfast, all-day dining, and a poolside bar with views of Cinderella Castle. Additional dining options are available at the Polynesian Village Resort, including the beloved ʻOhana, Kona Cafe, and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.
Recreation has also expanded with the addition of the Cove Pool, which features a sandy courtyard, whirlpool spa, and breathtaking lagoon views. Kids can splash away at Moana’s Voyage, a new play area inspired by the film. Guests also have access to existing amenities like the Lava Pool, the Oasis Pool, and activities such as volleyball, guided fishing, and motorboat rentals.
