Storytellers Cafe, located in Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, now offers character dining for dinner for the first time ever! Guests can enjoy the all-new “Donald’s Tales of Adventure” dinner buffet from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., priced at $62 per adult (ages 10+) and $36 per child (ages 3-9). For breakfast and brunch, the cafe continues to host “Mickey’s Tales of Adventure.”

Guests indulging in the new Donald’s Tales of Adventure dinner buffet receive a special, commemorative button. This exclusive souvenir features Donald in his adventurous new costume, set against a wilderness backdrop.

Donald’s brand-new adventurer costume is ready for the wilderness! It features a practical utility vest worn over a green jacket, complemented by a classic red bandana tied around his neck. For head protection, he sports a blue beanie. His brown backpack, packed with all his camping essentials, is adorned with charming patches: one shaped like a mug showing a camping scene, another for an Astronomy Club, and a third with the word “Explore!” on a flag.

Daisy is ready for adventure in her new outfit! She’s sporting a long brown vest over a vibrant, floral-patterned dress. A blue bandana adds a pop of color around her neck, and she completes her look with a stylish green cowboy hat, practical brown bag, and sturdy brown boots.

Goofy is ready for his own outdoor tales, having swapped his signature tall hat for a practical green fisher’s hat, perfectly matching his new pants. He sports a blue vest over his classic orange shirt, and a special patch on his pants subtly ties into the rustic, woodsy theming of Storytellers Cafe.

Ever the classic pal, Pluto doesn’t get a full costume, but he does sport a charming new accessory: a blue patterned bandana collar with red trim. It’s a subtle but stylish update for his adventures!
Pluto’s new tag is a beautiful nod to his surroundings, designed to resemble the stained glass decorations found throughout Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. Fittingly, the tag even depicts the hotel itself nestled behind his name.

Clarabelle Cow looks lovely in her new ensemble, featuring a charming red floral bow and a sophisticated blue jacketpaired with a matching pencil skirt. A classic bronze cowbell swings gracefully from her neck on a blue scarf, adding a touch of rustic elegance.

Storytellers Cafe’s impressive buffet now features an array of special new and updated offerings for Donald’s Tales of Adventure, all designed to evoke a fun camping experience. Among the diverse selections, you’ll find classic breadsticksand delicious French bread.
Further along the buffet, you’ll discover an assortment of delicious dinner rolls, perfectly paired with luxurious La Conviette French butter.

The buffet boasts an impressive charcuterie spread, featuring an unusually large and delicious cheese selection. Accompaniments like fig jam and mustard elevate the experience. We were genuinely surprised by the quality and variety—it’s an array we’ve rarely, if ever, seen at a Disney buffet, and every bite was superb.
The salad bar offers an impressive variety, featuring options like potato salad, Caesar salad, kale and quinoa, mixed greens salad, southwest couscous, roasted beet salad, and Caprese. Croutons and dressings are available on the side to customize your plate. While most selections were a hit, the roasted beet salad was a definite standout and our favorite, though the couscous was just okay.

While salmon has historically been a standout at Storytellers Cafe, the lemon pepper basmati rice salmon for Donald’s Tales of Adventure unfortunately fell short, coming across as dry and tough. The seasoning was pleasant, and the basmati rice itself was excellent, but the fish was a disappointment.
However, the new additions more than made up for it! The baby back ribs are absolutely spectacular, quite literally melting in your mouth. The BBQ brisket is also new and incredibly tender, though perhaps not quite as soft as the ribs. We were genuinely surprised by the quality of both the ribs and brisket, especially for a buffet outside of traditional BBQ regions.

Pizza lovers will find a satisfying selection, featuring familiar favorites like pepperoni, Margherita, and cheese. There’s also a delightful chef’s special, which happened to be mushroom during our visit.

Don’t forget to grab some fresh fruit! The selection features juicy watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries.
There’s also an assortment of tasty desserts for guests to enjoy.
Overall, this character meal offers a great variety of foods and amazing character interactions!
