‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness’ Racks Up $42M In Advance Ticket Sales

The Doctor Strange movie sequel is already establishing an impressive record in advance ticket sales!

Disney Theatrical Distribution boss Tony Chambers told CinemaCon attendees that advance ticket sales for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are now at $42 million. Even the first 24-hour ticket pre-sales for Doctor Strange 2 scored a year-to-date record for Fandango.

Projections for the movie’s opening weekend are around $150 million. However, given how major superhero releases, such as Spider-Man: No Way Home ($260M), have been besting their pre-weekend estimates, don’t be surprised if this Benedict Cumberbatch blows away that record.

The Return of the Sorceror Supreme

Benedict Cumberbatch believes his next Marvel movie will be HUGE hit! Set after the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the “Doctor Strange” sequel finds the Sorcerer Supreme dealing with the fallout of his decision to open the multiverse.

“There’s a lot of reckoning,” Cumberbatch added of the film. “And a lot of self-discovery. Strange is almost a stranger to himself before this film unfolds and reveals what, essentially, is in his nature, that he then has to either confront or resist or fall into or become. There are some very bold ideas, and some extraordinary tests of Strange and encounters.

Enter a new dimension of Strange when the new movie arrives in theaters on May 6th! In Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Will you be seeing the new movie during the opening weekend?
