Doc McStuffins – It’s Time for Your Check – Up Review & Giveaway

Doc McStuffins-It’s Time for Your Check-Up is in stores NOW!  You won’t want to miss your appointment with Disney, Jr.’s most loved doctor.  She’s sweet, caring, and back to take care of her stuffed animal friends!   The DVD set comes with five episodes of sharing and caring, along with a free growth chart.  Episodes include:

I was recently sent this DVD to review, and let me tell you-it’s super cute!  Of course, we’ve seen some of these episodes on TV, but now my daughter can watch them over and over again.  I’m always amazed at the sweet, important lessons that someone like Doc McStuffins has to teach young people.  I noticed in a few of the episodes that Doc genuinely cares for her brother-Donny.  I thought this was so sweet, and a great message for the littles watching it.  Not only does Doc McStuffins care for her family, but she teaches young people the importance of health and taking care of yourself from a young age.  I think this is a must add to any family DVD collection!  AND, WE’RE GIVING AWAY A COPY TO ONE LUCKY READER!  YOU’LL FIND DETAILS FOR ENTERING TO WIN A COPY OF YOUR OWN AT THE END OF THE POST.  


Not only did  get to review the DVD, but I also had a chance to talk to Kiara Muhammed-the voice of Doc McStuffins herself!  I think she is super sweet, and I appreciate that she takes time out of her “normal” kid life to be a part of Doc McStuffins.  She’s an excellent example for others, and I’m sure she’ll be so successful!

1. Outside of acting, how do you like to spend your time?

– HANGING OUT WITH MY FRIENDS, GOING TO THE MOVIES

2. What do you enjoy the most about working for Disney/Disney Junior?

– I WATCHED DISNEY WHILE GROWING UP AND IT’S REALLY COOL TO ACTUALLY BE ON A SHOW.

3. I know my daughter absolutely loves and admires you. Who do you admire in entertainment? Why?

– JOHN KRASINSKI BECAUSE HIS WAY OF COMEDY IS REALLY FUNNY TO ME AND GINNIFER GOODWIN BECAUSE SHE IS ON ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS “ONCE UPON A TIME” AND SHE WAS IN THE MOVIE “SOMETHING BORROWED” WHICH I CAN WATCH 10 TIMES IN A ROW.

4. How did you get the role as Doc McStuffins?

– I GOT THE JOB AFTER AN AUDITION AND THEN A CALLBACK. THERE WERE WAY MORE PEOPLE THE SECOND TIME (DURING THE CALLBACK) GIVING DIRECTION. AND A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, I GOT A CALL THAT I BOOKED THE JOB!!!

5. Doc McStuffins is full of positive messages for young girls. What is the most important message you want your viewers to learn from your character?

– I WOULD SAY THAT YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE AND IT’S IMPORTANT TO STAY HEALTHY.

6. How can you relate to Doc McStuffins?

– WE BOTH HAVE A COOL IMAGINATION.

7. Doc McStuffins looks up to her mom. What do you look up to your mom for?

– UH, EVERYTHING!….

8. How does it make you feel to know that thousands of little girls are watching your show every day?

– IT FEELS GREAT! I HAD NO IDEA THE SHOW WOULD BE THIS POPULAR AND GET SO MANY GREAT REVIEWS.

9. Do your friends and classmates know you play a cartoon character? How do they react to that?

– YES, THEY THINK IT’S CUTE. SOME OF THEM ACTUALLY WATCH THE SHOW BY THEMSELVES OR WITH YOUNGER SIBLINGS AND REALLY ENJOY IT.

10.  How excited are you that the show is now on DVD?

– VERY!!..IT’S COOL BECAUSE NOW YOU CAN WATCH IT WHENEVER YOU WANT AND IT COMES WITH A BONUS GROWTH CHART.

  8. Lambie is the cutest character of all. Reminds me of a toy my son had when he was a toddler. My granddaughter now loves watching Doc McStuffins and has her own Doc McStuffins doctor kit that she plays with.

  17. My kids are both huge fans of Doc. Would love to have the DVD for entertaining them during our wait time between classes this summer.

  18. I guess it would have to be Doc… My daughter has everyone call her Doc. She even created a Doc costume including a purple striped shirt, a pink skirt, a lab coat, and a stethoscope. She also carries around all the stuffed animal characters: Lambie, Stuffy, and Hallie. She is dying for us to buy her a stuffed animal that resembles Chilly. She has also changed her initials to DM, which has caused some confusion in her class!

  24. My favorite character is lambie. My niece’s favortie character is chilly. We love to watch it together.

  40. Hallie is my favorite….she’s got that spunk and Southern attitude! Both of my grandbabies love DocMcStuffins…and my grandson’s dog is named Doc…one of the words he can say!!

  41. Lambie! My daughter was given a little lamb when she was a baby, and that’s what she named it. Then, years later, we came across this show and it has the cutest character of the same name… she was in love! I need to get these on DVD as we don’t have cable tv in our own home…just good ol’ rabbit ears! 🙂

  42. My daughter is 6 and this is one of her fave shows. Her favorite is Doc. She loves to help fix things too 🙂

  46. Lambie is my little one’s favorite! She loves to give hugs and is always so concerned about others and their feelings- just like my little girl!

  49. I think our favorite is Doc! My daughter plays non-stop with her Doc McStuffins medical kit and luckily, according to her, we are healthy and “good to go”! LOL
