Disneyworld Eye Sore or Fond Memory..You decide

For as long as I can remember when making my rounds in Fantasyland I and countless others have walked by the above picture. Now it is home to stroller parking and usually has a Cast Member directing people away. But where did it come from?

It was called Skyway to Tomorrowland / Fantasyland

The Skyway, one of the original Walt Disney World attractions, present when the park first opened in 1971, was an aerial cable car ride, which took guests between the Fantasyland and TomorrowLand in the Magic Kingdom. The ride lasted about 5 minutes and offered some spectacular views but did present an eye sore in photos and video.

Here is a complete ride video from 1998

While the Tomorrowland station was demolished in 2009 the Fantasyland Station is still alive and well.

So what about the Fantasyland Station is it a monument of things gone by? Will it be demolished for something else when the Fantasyland expansion begins?

We will have to see in the upcoming months..
