Planning a Stay at Disney’s Yacht Club? What to Know About Upcoming Refurbishments

Nestled on the shores of Crescent Lake, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort offers guests a taste of New England seaside elegance with prime access to two Walt Disney World theme parks. As a deluxe resort known for its sophisticated atmosphere and top-tier amenities, it’s a popular choice for many visitors. However, those planning a stay in late 2025 or early 2026 should be aware of a couple of upcoming refurbishment projects.

Exterior Maintenance Scheduled for 2025

From early July through October 2025, the resort will undergo routine exterior maintenance. According to Disney, this work may be visible and audible to guests during daytime hours. A notable impact of this project will be the temporary closure of the resort’s main porte cocheres (the covered entrances).

Despite this, Disney has confirmed that all guest services—including valet, luggage assistance, and resort transportation—will remain fully available. The vast majority of the resort’s amenities are also expected to operate normally during this period.

Skyliner Refurbishment in Early 2026

In a separate project, guests visiting in early 2026 should note a planned closure of the Disney Skyliner system. From January 25 through January 31, 2026, the popular gondola system will be closed for its annual refurbishment. As the Yacht Club utilizes the nearby International Gateway station, this will affect Skyliner access to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. During this week-long closure, complimentary bus service will be provided as an alternative.

A Premier Location with Top-Tier Amenities

Even with the temporary work, the core appeal of the Yacht Club remains firmly intact. The resort is home to Stormalong Bay, a three-acre water complex widely considered the best pool area on property, which it shares with the adjacent Beach Club Resort. Its prime location allows for convenient walking or boat access to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

While there will be some temporary construction and transportation adjustments, Disney is taking steps to minimize the impact on the guest experience. Prospective visitors should simply factor these scheduled projects into their planning to ensure a magical stay.
