I am always looking for ways to save money on our Disney World Vacations. I spend hours doing research online and talking to my various Disney Blogger friends to find ways to save even more money so my family and I can keep going back without going broke. One Tip I have been a little hesitant about jumping on board with is getting a credit card for point and bonuses. My wife and I are trying to decide which card we want to get to use for our Disney Vacations. We plan on using strictly on gas and groceries and pay it off in full every month. If you have a Disney Visa from Chase let us know how you use it to earn points for your trip in the comment box below.

I love using credit cards to earn rewards. I sort of look at it that then you don’t use a credit card your leaving money behind. The key is to not change your spending habits and pay it off each month. But if you stick to charging everything you can on your card, and there are some pretty creative ways to increase this, you can have whole vacations paid for in a short time. I am in Walt Disney World now, and my hotel and air fare were paid for by points earned by credit cads and unique stay and earn deals that is keeping my hotel costs to around $10 a day (that is how much it cost me to earn a free day). In regards to which card you are going to get then first things is if you are going to pay it off every month, the introductory rate does not matter. Second, you just have to look at your spending. if you are only going to be putting a few hundred on it each month, then the premier may not be right for you. On a side note, I do have a Disney visa card, but I rarely use it except for the special discounts like the 10% off at the Disney Store and the free photo at EPCOT. There are other cards that can be used to get better rewards such as cash, airlines tickets, or hotel stays that help pay for your vacation which free’s up money for Disney fun.
i have the basic card i refuse to pay an anual fee! i love it! i use it to pay for everything and pay it off every month. i’m saving up my points for my first trip to the world since i’m a west coster. i’ve never cashed out any of my points but the other bonuses you get just for having the card are great. i love the free picture i get with the meet and greet for card holders. that alone is enough for me to own my card. plus they discount a few of the resturants in the park. and you get the 10% off $50 at most of the stores in the parks as well. if you do the basic i see no reason not to get one and you can always upgrade later if you think you can earn enough points to cancle out the anual fee.
We have the Disney Premier Visa. We use it for everything we can, groceries, bills, etc, then pay it in full every pay period. We love it! We usually have close to 1500-2000 points to use toward our vacays. We only go once a year so these points allow us to choose luxuries we wouldn’t always necessarily have, for instance, always staying in the Polynesian with a theme park view.
