Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon Closed Due to Hurricane Debby, Theme Parks Remain Operational
Walt Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is closed today, August 5th, as a precaution due to inclement weather conditions caused by Hurricane Debby. While the theme park resort hasn’t experienced any extreme weather directly from the hurricane, the outer bands are bringing intense rain storms and gusty winds to the area.

Central Florida is currently under a Tornado Watch until 4 p.m., and scattered tropical storm force wind gusts of up to 50 mph are still possible throughout the day, along with additional rainfall of 2-5 inches, with localized amounts potentially exceeding 6 inches.
Despite the weather, the four main Walt Disney World theme parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom – remain open and are operating normally. However, some outdoor attractions at the parks have been temporarily closed due to the inclement weather.
Guests are advised to check the Walt Disney World website or app for the latest updates on attraction closures and weather conditions.
