In a move reflecting the transition of the Reedy Creek Improvement District to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District, the former Reedy Creek Fire Department proudly unveiled its new name and emblem. Now dubbed the District Fire Department, the new emblem and name came about following a vote by all 220 public safety personnel in the department.

Fire Chief Eric Ferrari oversaw the debut of the updated name and logo, emphasizing the department’s ongoing dedication to ensuring the safety of all guests on district property. Chief Ferrari expressed his enthusiasm for this new phase, stating, “Today, we wholeheartedly embrace change, drawing upon the same unwavering determination that has defined our response to every call for service. Our freshly minted name and emblem signify not just a new chapter but an entirely revitalized narrative.” He further highlighted the department’s role as “custodians of countless cherished memories” and “guardians of the thousands who contribute to the magic that defines our community.”
