As Anonymouse brought you this story last week, another step in the process of making Disney’s Magic Bands a reality has occurred. The “Magic Band,” made an appearance on the FCC today and there is a lot of new technical information now about it. The device is a wrist-worn, battery-powered device that operates in the 2.4GHz spectrum.
These bands are going to replace tickets in the future and are disposable and waterproof. They will have many unique powers to them, but at this point most of it is just guesswork to what all the wristbands will do and not do. Check out the prior Anonymouse article for more information and for even more technical information check out the FCC filings by clicking HERE.

I still think these armbands aren’t for everyone. However, just having come back from a Disney trip, they would sure speed up the crowds at the gate. I can’t count the number of times the line was held up because someone misplaced their ticket or hadn’t handed them out individually to their family or just couldn’t figure out how they worked.
Im not super impressed with these. For one thing, my toddler wouldnt wear it. If he did, i imagine it wouldnt take long before he threw it overboard during a ride. Then we would be in a panic to get a new one. Secondly, I like the cards we get now with the characters on them. They are fun for the kids to keep. I would assume there is better security with these arm bands howevwr.
these armbands look super awesome! i hope they start testing them out soon!
