Disney's Live-Action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Movie Adds Billy Magnussen

Magnussen’s role in Lilo & Stitch has yet to be announced

Another actor has been confirmed for the upcoming Lilo & Stitch movie. Deadline reports Billy Magnussen is joining Zach Galifianakis and Maia Kealoha in the live-action remake, slated for a May 2024 release on Disney+. Fans will recognize Magnussen from previous roles that include the live-action remake of Aladdin, HBO Max’s Made for Love and the Soprano’s prequel The Many Saints of Newark.

While we know Kealoha will be playing Lilo in the movie, Galifianakis’s and Magnussen’s roles have yet to be announced. The exact storyline and plot of the movie have yet to be announced, so we do not know how closely the live-action Lilo & Stitch will follow the storyline of the original.

The live-action film is being directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, a 2023 Oscar Nominee. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are on board as producers for the film, with Ryan Halprin serving as executive producer. The script was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, who worked off of an initial draft developed by Mike Van Waes.
