Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort And Spa Room Review

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa may be the most iconic of the Walt Disney World Resorts.  It is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort area.  It is located on the monorail loop along with Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The rooms here are so large and spacious that I think I may be forever ruined from staying elsewhere ever again!  Have you ever wondered what an Outer Building- Theme Park View category room looks like?  Well, wonder no more!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa has guest rooms in the main building as well as guest rooms located in outer buildings.  I was assigned to room 9347 which is a corner room located in the Big Pine Key building.  This is the first outer building to your right if you walk out the doors near 1900 Park Fare.  Honestly, I loved this location!  It was very convenient to be so close to the main building, especially when it rained literally the whole time that we were there!

To say that the room was huge is an understatement!  There was more than enough room to house all of our luggage and the double stroller.  The kids even still had a ton of room to run around and play.  The nice thing about this particular room is that there was a little hallway that you walked through prior to actually entering the room.  The closet also had more than enough space and the safe could be found there.

There is a vanity with double sinks which are separate from the tub and toilet area.  There is even a hamper!  A note about the shower heads – they are secured to the wall which made bathing the kids a little difficult.  I found the shower heads that are found in the recently renovated room such as at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort to be easier for bath time with young children.

This particular room has 2 queen beds as well as a day bed.  If you want a good night’s sleep in an amazing bed, you need to try these.  I have never slept so well!  It was almost like sleeping on a cloud!

There are electrical outlets as well as USB ports that are found throughout the room such as on the dresser.  This makes charging your electronic devices a breeze.  The TV is also mounted to the wall which frees up space.  The room has a beverage chiller that is located in the dresser.  I did not take a photo of it, but there is also a coffee station.  The coffee station is located on the desk next to the bed closest to the main balcony.

Upon first glance, you may not see the Disney touches that can be found throughout the room.  I promise you though that they are there! For example, this room has a photo of Alice and the Mad Hatter.  There are also decorative pillows that state “Once Upon A Time” which fits perfectly with the theme of the resort.  Let me know what other Disney touches you have found if you stayed in these rooms!

Perhaps the best aspect of this room is the fact that there is not one balcony, but two!  One balcony overlooks The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa as well as the wedding chapel. This balcony is accessed by a regular door.

How amazing is this view of the slider that leads to the main balcony?

A table and two chairs can be found on this main balcony.  You can view Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Magic Kingdom theme park from here.  The view of Space Mountain was a little obstructed by the pine tree though.  This honestly was not an issue for me, however, it may be for some.  It was so calming to sit outside and watch the water taxis that I did not even notice the obstructed view.
