Walt Disney World is updating one of its iconic monorail resort restaurants. Starting in February, the Grand Floridian’s Citricos restaurant will be undergoing refurbishment.
Citricos serves Mediterranean-style cuisine and a wide selection of wine. It’s a signature dining experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Even though the refurbishment starts next month, it’s expected to take until summer 2020 to be completed. The refurbishment project will also take place over several phases throughout the year.
The Citricos bar is expected to close first in February. The dining room will continue to be open, but its menu will be modified since the bar area is closed. Then parts of the dining room will be closed for refurbishment starting in May. However, the Citricos name and Mediterranean theme should stay intact.
If you’re planning on visiting Disney World and dining at Citricos this year, then it’s best to keep this refurbishment in mind. The menu is subject to change during this period. Also, the availability for seating will change as parts of the dining room close for this project.
Are you looking forward to the changes being made at Citricos? Disney’s Grand Floridian restaurant should look quite different once it fully reopens later this year.
