Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil is laying off most of its workforce due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The company is ending all of its current performances, which means even their Disney Springs location is affected. Most of the employees and entertainers working for Cirque du Soleil in Orlando were hit by layoffs. The company is keeping only its staffers for now in order to maintain basic operations. However, the company is planning on rehiring when they can resume their performances.

The Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment firm based in Montreal. They offer theatrical stage performances in Montreal, Las, Vegas, Orlando, and other parts of the globe. Their Orlando show in Disney Springs includes 165 workers that are temporarily laid off.

The Cirque du Soleil was set to premiere their new “Drawn to Life” theatrical show in April at Disney Springs. But now that show has been delayed. The new show features a story involving a young child entering the world of animation. New acrobatic sequences, musical segments, and characters were created for “Drawn to Life.” The show would take audiences on a dazzling journey through the world of animation using real-life performances.

If the company is able to resume theatrical productions, then Cirque du Soleil should return to Disney Springs later this year.
