Blizzard Beach Closure
Blizzard Beach will be closed this weekend due to cold creeping into Central Florida over the next few days. While it might be great for a snowman even Olaf is looking forward to the warmer weather. He loves warm hugs and summer!
The closure will last from January 13-15th with a planned re-opening of January 16th. It is a standard practice for Disney to issue closures for their waterparks during colder weather due to concern for guest safety and comfort.
New Theming Added
Disney’s Blizzard Beach originally opened on April 1 1995 and just recently underwent a partial retheming. Beloved characters from Disney’s popular Frozen movie were added throughout the already snowy-themed waterpark.
Blizzard Beach has several fun attractions for the youngest to the more daring.
Summit Plummet
Plunge 12 stories almost straight down, rocketing through a darkened tunnel and into a massive spray of whitewater after a 360-foot-long, high-speed descent. Hardcore thrill-seekers won’t want to miss this slide so steep, you can’t see where you’re going—until you’re there!
