Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Welcome ‘Pueblo Esperanza,’ a Vibrant New Land Inspired by Tropical Americas

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is set for a major expansion with the addition of “Pueblo Esperanza,” a new 11-acre area inspired by the rich cultures and landscapes of Tropical Americas. The exciting announcement was made by Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro at the D23 Ultimate Fan Event, thrilling fans with the prospect of a vibrant and immersive new land.

Designed to feel lived-in and steeped in history, much like the park’s existing Harambe area, Pueblo Esperanza promises to transport guests to a bustling village filled with charm and character. One of its central features will be a grand hacienda, set to become one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, offering a taste of the region’s diverse cuisine.

At the heart of Pueblo Esperanza, a magnificent fountain will serve as a gathering place for villagers to share stories and celebrate their heritage. A whimsical touch will be added by a giant, working carousel crafted by a local woodcarver, featuring beloved animals from cherished Disney tales. This unique attraction promises to delight families and add a touch of magic to the land.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Pueblo Esperanza will also be home to not one, but two signature attractions, Indiana Jones & Encanto. This news has sparked eager anticipation among Disney fans, who are already envisioning the thrilling adventures and heartwarming experiences that await in this new land.

Construction on Pueblo Esperanza is slated to begin later this year, and while an official opening date has not been announced, the project is sure to be a major highlight in the coming years for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
