Disney’s Animal Kingdom has shared the heartfelt news of the passing of Gino, a beloved 44-year-old western lowland gorilla. For nearly three decades, Gino was a cherished presence at the park, known for his playful spirit, gentle humor, and his role as a devoted father and troop leader.

Though he would have celebrated his 45th birthday this December, Gino’s lasting impact on the future of his species and the many lives he touched will not be forgotten.
