Disney’s 101 Dalmatians is truly a love story and it’s release on DVD and Blue on February 10 is perfect for Valentine’s Day. It’s a story about the love between a husband and a wife (whether dog or human!) and parents and children. Of course it also features one of Disney’s best villains, Cruella de Vil! My kids had seen 101 Dalmatians a few years ago so they were thrilled to watch it again when our DVD arrived.
101 Dalmatians is a classic Disney story. Two lonely dog owners, Roger and Anita fall in love with each other, just as their two dogs, Pongo and Perdita, fall in love. It’s only a matter of time before their dogs have adorable dalmatian puppies, 15 to be exact! So, how do they get to 101? Well, that’s all thanks for Anita’s boss, Cruella de Vil. It’s a fun, fast paced story than any family will love.
We especially loved the DVD Bonus features:
- “The Further Adventures of Thunderbolt” – this quick cartoon finishes off the pups’ favorite cartoon that they watch in the movie, The Adventures of Thunderbolt. We get a glimpse of them watching their favorite show in the movie, but we don’t get the see the end of the episode. This cartoon lets us see how Thunderbolt saves the day.
- Walt Disney Presents “The Best Doggoned Dog in the World” (1961 Version) – It’s always nice to see a TV show hosted by Walt Disney. This one gives some more behind the scenes information on 101 Dalmatians.
- Lucky Dogs – We really enjoyed this behind the scenes video about the making of the movie, including interviews with people who worked for Disney in creating the movie.
- Dalmatians 101: Hosted by Cameron Boyce – This short reviews what makes dalmatians the best dogs. Very cute! It’s make me excited about the upcoming Disney Channel movie, “The Descendants”.
Disney’s 101 Dalmatians: Diamond Edition (2-Disc Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD) will be available on February 10. I highly recommend it for any family or anyone looking for a sweet love story to watch on Valentine’s Day.
