A union representing 14,000 Disneyland employees has reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract, preventing a potential strike at the Southern California theme parks.

“We have reached a tentative agreement with Disney,” the Disney Workers Rising Bargaining Committee said in a statement. “We have fought hard for the past four months and this tentative agreement would not have been possible without the strength we showed this past week with our rally and Unfair Labor Practice vote.”

The proposed three-year contract includes significant wage increases, improved seniority benefits, and changes to attendance policies.

While the union is optimistic about the deal, it’s not final until members vote on it next Monday, July 29th, at Disneyland.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good said in an emailed statement, “We care deeply about the wellbeing of our cast members and are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with Master Services Council that addresses what matters most to our cast while positioning Disneyland Resort for future growth and job creation.”

A coalition of four unions representing approximately 14,000 Disneyland Resort employees has reached a tentative agreement with Disney, averting a potential strike. The workers, including ride operators, custodians, and food service workers, have been negotiating for a new contract since April.

The union coalition, facing challenges including low wages and alleged unfair labor practices by Disney, had recently authorized a strike vote. The tentative agreement comes just days before the scheduled vote. The deal now heads to a union membership vote on July 29th.

While contract negotiations for Disneyland employees have concluded, those for workers at Disney California Adventure and Downtown Disney are ongoing, with their current contract expiring in September.
