What the Role Involves

As a Cosmetology Cast Member at the Disneyland Resort, you will be the artist behind the iconic looks of our performers and even our Audio-Animatronics figures. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Styling and Maintenance: You’ll wash, set, and style assigned show wigs, recreating specific styles from detailed photos, which often include elaborate theatrical and period looks.
• Wig Expertise: You must be knowledgeable about the appropriate tools for working with both synthetic and human hair wigs.
• Show Support: You’ll assist with pinning on wigs and performing quick retouches for performers before and during parades, shows, and various Entertainment venues.
• Performer Training: You’ll be responsible for teaching entertainers the proper techniques for their makeup application.

Qualifications for the Magic

To be considered for this unique role, you must meet the following basic requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• You must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• A valid Cosmetology license with the state of California is required.
• Willingness to join the IATSE labor union.
• Ability to lead with a positive demeanor and a self-directed approach.
• Committed to working collaboratively on a team.
• Enthusiastic about interacting with internal Guests and Cast Members.
• Able to complete repetitious tasks while consistently maintaining high quality.
• Flexible and reliable for scheduled shifts, especially for Part-Time roles which require full availability Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and all holidays year-round.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with the following experience are highly encouraged to apply:

• Two (2) years of salon work experience as a licensed Cosmetologist.
• Experience in styling synthetic and/or human hair wigs.
• Styling experience with theatrical period looks.
• Advanced industry classes/education.
• Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Important Schedule Information

Disney Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All applicants must have flexible availability to work Sunday through Saturday across all shifts (i.e., 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift), including all major holidays.

Additionally, if selected, you must be fully available for a six (6) week training period.
