Disneyland Closing Early on Christmas Eve Due to Heavy Rainfall
Disneyland Resort has announced it will close its theme parks earlier than scheduled this Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, as a powerful atmospheric river batters Southern California.

Updated Park Hours Due to the severe weather conditions, the operating hours for both parks have been adjusted:
- Disneyland Park: Will now close at 11:00 PM (originally scheduled to close at midnight).
- Disney California Adventure: Will now close at 9:00 PM (originally scheduled to close at 10:00 PM).
While the reduction is only one hour per park, it marks a significant operational change for one of the busiest holiday dates of the year, which typically sees the parks open late to accommodate festive crowds.
“Historic” Winter Storm. The early closure comes in response to warnings from the National Weather Service regarding a “historic” winter storm moving through the region. The system is expected to dump over four inches of rain on Anaheim on Christmas Eve alone, bringing risks of flash flooding and dangerous travel conditions.
Local officials have urged residents and visitors to rethink travel plans, and evacuation orders have been issued for parts of Orange County susceptible to mudslides from recent wildfires.
Guests currently at the resort can expect a “soggy” experience, with many outdoor attractions likely to close intermittently due to the rain. While Disney has not announced any special refunds for the shortened hours—citing their standard policy that hours can change due to weather—crowds are expected to be lighter than usual for a holiday peak day.
Visitors braving the storm are advised to dress in heavy waterproof layers and monitor the official Disneyland App for real-time updates on attraction availability and any further changes to park operations.
